{"id":4469,"date":"2023-11-22T14:36:11","date_gmt":"2023-11-22T20:36:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/asociacionpasmo.org\/?p=4469"},"modified":"2024-04-01T15:47:36","modified_gmt":"2024-04-01T21:47:36","slug":"eliminar-la-violencia-contra-la-mujer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/asociacionpasmo.org\/en\/2023\/11\/22\/eliminar-la-violencia-contra-la-mujer\/","title":{"rendered":"#NoExcuse: A global call to end violence against women"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Cada 25 de noviembre se conmemora el D\u00eda Internacional de la Eliminaci\u00f3n de la Violencia contra la Mujer, el cual fue designado en el a\u00f1o 2000 durante la Asamblea General de la ONU; con el fin de hacer el llamado a los gobiernos, las organizaciones internacionales y la sociedad civil a coordinar actividades de prevenci\u00f3n y atenci\u00f3n.<span style=\"font-family: var(--global-body-font-family);\">En 2023, ONUMUJERES invita a unirse a la campa\u00f1a mundial bajo el lema #NoHayExcusa: Un llamado mundial para eliminar la violencia contra la mujer, para\u00a0 frenar las m\u00faltiples violencias que afectan a las ni\u00f1as, adolescentes y mujeres alrededor del mundo.<\/span><\/p>\n<h6><strong>Why is it important to remember this day?<\/strong><\/h6>\n<p>According to reports from the United Nations, globally, 1 in 3 women has been a victim of physical and\/or sexual violence at least once in her life. Given the magnitude of the problem. This date not only motivates us to think about gender-based violence and its impact on an individual, community, and a social level but also to take measures for its prevention and eventual eradication.<\/p>\n<h6><strong>Types of Violence <\/strong><\/h6>\n<p>Violence can occur in public or private settings and is not limited to physical injuries. There are different types of violence against women, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Psychological violence<\/li>\n<li>Economic Violence<\/li>\n<li>Emotional violence<\/li>\n<li>Physical violence<\/li>\n<li>Sexual violence<\/li>\n<li>Digital violence<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h6><strong>How to recognize violence against women?<\/strong><\/h6>\n<p>Violence shows progressively and often disguises itself as \u201cgood intentions\u201d that end up being forms of control and manipulation. For the victim, it can be difficult to leave a violent situation as it is often not recognized as violence until the abuser has control over the affected individual.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">En el contexto de la pandemia provocada por COVID-19, en 2021, en Asociaci\u00f3n PASMO desarrollamos una campa\u00f1a con el apoyo de Management Sciences for Health \u2013MSH-, para contribuir a mejorar el acceso a los servicios de prevenci\u00f3n y atenci\u00f3n a la violencia basada en g\u00e9nero de mujeres Mayas y mestizas de San Marcos, Huehuetenango y Quetzaltenango en Guatemala .\u00a0 Entre los hallazgos y recomendaciones para la comunicaci\u00f3n, buscamos apoyar a las mujeres a primero identificar los diferentes tipos de violencia. Despu\u00e9s de eso pod\u00edan buscar apoyo, especialmente a trav\u00e9s del n\u00famero 1572 del Modelo de Atenci\u00f3n Integral para Mujeres V\u00edctimas de Violencia I\u00b4x Kem (MAIMI) del Ministerio P\u00fablico con atenci\u00f3n las 24 horas del d\u00eda los 365 d\u00edas del a\u00f1o.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<img fetchpriority=\"high\" sizes=\"(max-width: 194px) 100vw, 194px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The campaign aired in the three prioritized geographical areas from February to May 2022 on social media, radio in Spanish and Mam languages, and outdoor platforms, successfully reaching 787,713 women trough digital media and 268,781 through mass media.<\/p>\n<h6><strong>How to support a woman in a situation of violence?<\/strong><\/h6>\n<ol>\n<li>Listen without judging.<\/li>\n<li>Offer emotional support.<\/li>\n<li>If you know places that provide psychological, legal or community support, share the information with her.<\/li>\n<li>Encourage autonomy by supporting her decisions.<\/li>\n<li>Avoid blaming the victim.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>As part of the PASMO\u2019s with highly vulnerable populations, it is important to highlight the violence suffered by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/eentremariposas\/\">transgender women<\/a> and not forget to include them in all prevention, care, and mobilization efforts. This November 25th , we join the call to renew our commitment to the fight against gender-based violence.
